Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 — I’m finally getting my two eBay sales sent off today, I’m late on one but early on the other.
One of the keys was a fairly rate one, an AC7AZ paddle, one of 18 he manufactured. I bought it from a guy who never put the paddles on it and used it; I also never used it, so the key remains as new. I was a little disappointed in the low selling price, but that’s the chances you take with an auction.
The second key I sold was a “best offer” from a guy. The key’s been on eBay quite a while. A 1925 Vibroplex Original that worked for a living. The key has the call sign “WAR” scratched into the top of the base. Maybe the operator worked at WAR in the 1920 and 30s? Who knows?
I’ve got a bunch more to sell too.
BUNNELL NAVY KEY NEXT? I’m considering selling my Bunnell manufactured Navy bug. This key has PROPERTY OF US NAVY embossedd on one side. The key and the box have similar serial number tags and sequential serials. Most of the Bunnell “Navy” keys I see lack the “property of” on the side.
Mine is flat mint, other than some dust. The key looks barely used. The case has some wear on the corners, but better the case than the key.
SHACK EXCAVATIONS RAMPING UP. My wife has made it very, very clear she wants me to move my gear out of the old shack so she can move it for her “she shed.”
The problem is that some of it just is NOT going to fit upstairs. Much of my space in Studio 3 is occupied by my wife’s crap … the trick is that my shack stuff mostly needs to be either sold, given away or trashed. Some I want to keep.
My wife and I have been working this summer on her mother’s house and getting it ready to sell, and that’s taking up all our spare timely. We’re about done with that, so hopefully we can start on the damn shack!
