I’ve been adding to my eBay listings of late, with a few sales here and there. Onn item that’s attracted attention but only low-ball offers of a rather rate Harvey Wells VFO that matches the HW TBS-50 line of transmitters.
The VFO isn’t complicated, but the unit is unique because it is designed to be placed under the TBS-50 transmitter. Together they make an impressive unit.
One of the low-ballers offered me half my asking price, citing the spots of race on the case, and no photos of the inside of the case or of the electronics. I decided to remove the panels and check out the case, which came out very, very mint, as was the electronics. I’ve updated the listing with added photos. I’ve also decided I’m not going to consider anymore low-ball offers from this guy.
It was a pain in the ass getting 70-year-old rusty screws out of the case. It took a little work, but I got it apart without damaging the case or the screws.
My hope is it will be worth my time. My goal is to sell this stuff, not keep it.
My kitchen has stacks of Priority Mail boxes filled with keys, awaiting purchase. C’mon buyers!
