My long-awaited Wouff Hong arrived today via parcel post insured mail, and I'm tickled pink!
I had to take a National NCX-5 that I was shipping out to the post office this morning anyway, so I picked up the Wouff Hong while I was there. I sold the National for $78, which was cheap, but still a worthwhile addition to my radio fund.
I was anxious to check on the Wouff Hong, so I opened it while I at the post office. The packing was fine, and it was very well packed. The Wouff Hong is 12 inches high and quite heavy. It's really a nice piece and in great shape. I'll be happy to display it in my shack.
I had hesitated on selling the NCX-5, because I have ALWAYS wanted one of this rigs. The problem was that I got this one — allegedly a working rig — and I never was convinced it actually worked. I never hooked it up. The radio became one of my many never-got-around-to-it radio projects. I still have several of those waiting around in various boxes, and I need to excavate more of these from the attic.
I've not done a lot of operating the last couple of days. I hope to rectify that this weekend. I also need to work on my radio club's Christmas dinner invitation.
It's very late and I need to shower and head to bed!
